Deadline rule
Continuing education must be completed during each two-year certification renewal cycle; application and fees are submitted through the online Recertification Portal.

Sunrise Yoga is presented as a $149 specialization course worth 0.7 CEUs (5-hour video workshop, 40-page manual, online final exam for CEUs) rather than a credential with its own stated renewal cycle. AFAA's general recertification page requires at least 1.5 approved hours of continuing education per two-year certification renewal cycle, with details in the NASM-AFAA Recertification Handbook. The recertification wizard lists 'Yoga Specialist' among renewable certifications, and also offers a 'Recert for Life' option for $299.

CEU recognition

  • Athletics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) — petition accepted
Petition may be filed for CEU credits; $25 petition fee stated in the recertification wizard.
