Renewal must be submitted before the certification expiration date; may renew up to one year early (new period starts from original expiration date). One-year grace period after expiration with a late fee; after one year, full re-enrollment in the certification course is required.
Renew via Student Portal (My Account → Renewal); processing 3–5 business days. Requirements: 20 CEUs, current CPR/AED, portal submission. Standard $99 renewal fee may be waived if all 20 CEUs are completed through ISSA. Third-party CEUs must be uploaded with a certificate of completion, transcript with grade, or proof of attendance and are subject to review (3–5 business days). Excess CEUs do not carry over. 'Certify for Life' option can eliminate future renewal fees.
