CEUs and renewal must be submitted before the expiration date printed on the certificate (2 years from issue date). Early renewal allowed up to 1 year prior, with the new period starting from the original expiration date. One-year grace period after expiration to renew with a late fee; beyond one year past due, re-enrollment/retaking the course is required.

ISSA certifications are valid 2 years from issue (3 years for Yoga 200). Renewal requires 20 CEUs, current CPR/AED certification, and submission through the Student Portal; processing takes 3-5 business days. Renewal is not automatic and initial course fees do not include the first renewal. The $99 renewal fee may be waived if all 20 CEUs are completed through ISSA. Excess CEUs cannot be carried over to the next period. A 'Certify for Life' option is offered to avoid future renewal fees. The Senior Fitness Instructor course itself is listed as awarding 20 CEUs upon completion.
