Deadline rule
All renewal requirements must be met by the certification expiration date (2 years from exam pass date). Renewal applications may be submitted up to one year late if all CE courses were completed before or within 90 days of the expiration date; additional fees apply.
Renew every 2 years by earning 1.9 NASM-approved CEUs and submitting an application via the NASM Recertification Portal (Customer Portal > Credentials > Recertification). CPR/AED is not required for CNC renewal. Random applications are audited; 30 days to supply documentation. NASM One membership waives recertification/renewal fees and includes 350+ CEU courses. NASM & AFAA courses auto-populate in the portal.
