NESTA states the MPT certificate (along with BMS, FNC, SAQ, CCS) is "valid forever" / lifetime, with no renewal or CEU requirement. Only the bundled Personal Fitness Trainer (PFT) credential inside the Master Personal Trainer program requires renewal (4-year cycle, 4.0 CEUs = 40 hours, $149 application fee, submit within 90 days of expiration; forfeited after 90 days past expiration; late fees $25/$50/$95 for 1-30/31-60/61-90 days late).

CEU recognition

  • NESTA Executive Certification Board (ECB) — petition accepted
Applies to the bundled PFT credential, not the MPT itself: CEUs from providers not on the NESTA approved provider list must be submitted via a CEU Petition and approved before inclusion in a renewal application; pre-approved sources include NESTA, Spencer Institute and other NESTA divisions plus listed approved providers.
