Certification valid 4 years; submit recertification application within 90 days of the expiration date and preferably before expiration. Late fees apply if submitted after expiration; after 90 days past expiration, renewal is forfeited. Renewal extends certification 4 years from the previous expiration date.
Renewal requires 4.0 CEUs (40 hours) completed within the four-year period, proof of attendance/official transcripts for college coursework, and the online Recertification Application with payment. CEUs must come from NESTA/Spencer Institute/other NESTA divisions or the NESTA Approved Providers list; other coursework must be approved via a CEU Petition before it can be used. Late fees by days past expiration: 1-30 days $25, 31-60 days $50, 61-90 days $95.
