Deadline rule

Certification valid two years from date of issue; CECs must be earned between issue date and expiration date and renewal submitted by the expiration date. Automatic 180-day reinstatement grace period (status 'expired') with late fee; if grace period lapses, must retake and pass the Advanced Certification for Yoga Teachers course/exam.

20 NETA CECs per 2-year cycle, of which at least 6 must come directly from NETA workshops or NETA home study courses. Excess CECs beyond 20 do not carry over to a future cycle. Submit renewal application (online or mail) with copies of Certificates of Completion, copy of Adult CPR/AED card (front and back), and fee; NETA recommends mailing two months before expiration. CPR/AED courses award no CECs; only CPR/AED certifications with a live hands-on practical skills evaluation (in-person or virtual) are accepted (e.g., AHA, ARC, ASHI, NSC). Separate Specialty Certification Renewal Form applies to individual yoga specialty certificates (10 CECs / 2 years).
