Certification valid 2 years; may renew up to 6 months before expiration while keeping original date. 6-month grace period after expiration (late fee applies); after 6 months the certification is forfeited and the course must be retaken (or an extension applied for).

Must submit 20 hours of CECs earned after the certification's renewal date; excess hours do not carry over to the next period. One SCW page states a minimum of 2 of the 20 CECs must come from SCW Fitness. CPR credits are not accepted toward the 20 CECs and a CPR card copy is no longer required. Renewal submitted online (single- or multi-certification form).
