Certification valid 2 years; may renew up to 6 months before expiration and keep original expiration date. Renewing after the expiration date incurs a $20 late fee; there is a 6-month grace period after expiration, after which the certification is forfeited and the course must be retaken (or an extension applied for).

Must submit 20 hours of CECs earned after the certification's renewal date; excess hours above 20 do not carry over. CPR card copy no longer required and CPR credits are not accepted toward the 20 CECs. Per the CEC video FAQ, 2 of the 20 CECs must come from SCW Fitness. Renewal of multiple certifications is handled via an online form; renewal PDFs are emailed. Documentation of CECs must be retained.
