Certification valid 2 years; may renew up to 6 months before expiration while keeping the original expiration date. A 6-month grace period follows expiration (with late fee); after 6 months the certification is forfeited and the course must be retaken (or an extension applied for).

Must submit 20 hours of CECs earned after the certification's renewal date; excess hours above 20 do not carry over. CPR credits are not accepted toward the 20 CECs and a CPR card copy is no longer required. CECs may be earned at MANIA conventions, other SCW live/online certifications, SCW Approved Providers, or fitness-related accredited college/university courses. Non-approved courses can be petitioned for approval ($25 base review fee).
