Certification valid 2 years; may renew up to 6 months before expiration while keeping original expiration date. $20 late fee if renewed after expiration; must renew within 6 months of expiration or apply for an extension/retake the course (certification forfeited).

20 hours of CECs must be earned from courses taken after the certification's renewal date; excess hours beyond 20 do not carry over to the next period. Per the CEC video FAQ, 2 of the 20 CECs must come from SCW Fitness. CPR credits are not accepted toward the 20 CECs and a CPR card copy is no longer required. This online certification awards SCW (4.0), AFAA (4.0), NASM (0.4), AEA (2.0), ACSM (4.0), ACE (0.4) credits.
