Certification valid 2 years; may renew up to 6 months before expiration while keeping original date. 6-month grace period after expiration (with $20 late fee); after 6 months certification is forfeited and course must be retaken (or an extension applied for).

20 hours of CECs required per 2-year cycle, earned after the certification's renewal date; excess hours above 20 do not carry over. CECs can come from MANIA conventions, SCW live/online certifications, SCW CEC online video courses, or SCW Approved Providers. One page states 2 of the 20 CECs must come from SCW Fitness. CPR credits are not accepted toward the 20 CECs and a CPR card copy is no longer required.
