Two attempts to pass. If you do not pass after two attempts, you can apply for an extension and retake the exam by contacting SCW (extension requires a $75 fee). No time limit on the exam; can start and stop.

Certification valid 2 years; may renew up to 6 months before expiration while keeping original date. Late renewal allowed within 6 months after expiration (with late fee); after 6 months the certification is forfeited and the course must be retaken (or an extension applied for).

Must submit 20 hours of CECs earned after the certification's renewal date; excess hours above 20 do not carry over. CPR credits are not accepted toward the 20 CECs and a CPR card copy is no longer required. One FAQ page states 2 of the 20 credits must come from SCW Fitness. CECs may be earned at MANIA conventions, other SCW live/online certifications, SCW CEC online video courses, or SCW Approved Providers.
