Certification valid 2 years; may renew up to 6 months before expiration while keeping original date. Late renewal allowed within 6 months after expiration (with late fee); after 6 months the certification is forfeited and the course must be retaken (or an extension applied for).

20 hours of CECs must be earned from courses taken after the certification's renewal date; extra hours beyond 20 do not carry over. Per the CEC video FAQ, 2 of the 20 credits must come from SCW Fitness. CPR credits are not accepted toward the 20 CECs and a CPR card copy is no longer required. Documentation of CECs must be retained.
