Certification valid 2 years; may renew up to 6 months before expiration while keeping original expiration date. 6-month grace period after expiration (late fee applies); after 6 months the certification is forfeited and the course must be retaken (or an extension applied for).

20 hours of CECs must be earned from courses taken after the certification's renewal date; excess hours do not carry over. Exam/renewal page states a minimum of 2 CECs must come from SCW Fitness. CPR credits are NOT accepted toward the 20 CECs and a CPR card copy is no longer required. Acceptable CECs: SCW live/online certifications, MANIA conventions, Virtual MANIA and SCW CEC video courses, SCW Approved Providers (incl. MANIA sponsors), and fitness-related accredited college/university courses.
