Retake policy
Two attempts to pass. If you do not pass after two attempts, you can apply for an extension and retake the exam by contacting SCW. Exam must be completed within 60 days of purchase of an Online Certification (two weeks after a live training); extension requires a $75 fee.

Deadline rule
Certification valid 2 years; CECs must be earned after the certification's renewal date. May renew up to 6 months in advance of expiration and keep original date. Up to 6 months after expiration renewal is allowed with a late fee; after 6 months the certification is forfeited and the course must be retaken (or an extension applied for).

Renewal requires submitting 20 hours of CECs earned after the certification's renewal date; excess hours above 20 do not carry over to the next period. CPR credits are not accepted toward the 20 CECs and a CPR card copy is no longer required. Documentation of CE earned must be retained. Renewal is completed via SCW's online renewal forms (single or multiple certifications).
