Retake policy
Two attempts to pass. Exam must be completed within 60 days of purchase of an Online Certification (two weeks after a live course). If not completed in time, an extension can be requested for a $75 fee; if you fail after two attempts you can apply for an extension and retake by contacting SCW.

Certification valid 2 years. May renew up to 6 months before expiration and keep original expiration date. CECs must be earned after the certification's renewal date; excess hours above 20 do not carry over. A 6-month grace period after expiration applies (with late fee); after 6 months the certification is forfeited unless an extension is purchased ($75 for an additional 90-day grace period), otherwise the course must be retaken.

Renew online via SCW certification renewal form; retain documentation of CEs earned. CPR card copies are no longer required and CPR credits do NOT count toward the 20 CECs.
