Certification valid 2 years; renew by expiration date. May renew up to 6 months early and keep original expiration date. A $20 late fee applies after expiration; 6-month grace period after expiration, after which the certification is forfeited and the course must be retaken (or an extension applied for).

Must submit 20 hours of CECs earned after the certification's renewal date; extra hours beyond 20 do not carry over. CECs may come from MANIA conventions, SCW live/online certifications, SCW CEC video courses, or SCW Approved Providers; one FAQ states 2 of the 20 CECs must come from SCW Fitness. CPR credits are not accepted toward the 20 CECs and a CPR card copy is no longer required. Exam/renewal admin fees: $35 materials/certificate replacement, $75 exam extension.
