Certification valid 2 years; may renew up to 6 months before expiration while keeping original date. Late renewal allowed up to 6 months after expiration (with late fee); after 6 months the certification is forfeited and the course must be retaken (or an extension applied for).

Requires 20 hours of CECs earned after the certification's renewal date; excess hours above 20 do not carry over to the next period. CPR card copy no longer required and CPR credits are not accepted toward the 20 CECs. CECs can be earned via MANIA conventions, other SCW live/online certifications, SCW Approved Providers, and fitness-related college/university courses.
