Retake policy
Two attempts to pass; if you do not pass after two attempts, you can apply for an extension (a $75 fee) and retake the exam by contacting SCW. No time limit on the exam itself; it can be started and resumed, and typically takes about one hour.

Certification is valid 2 years. CECs must be earned after the certification's renewal date; excess hours beyond 20 do not carry over. Renewal possible up to 6 months in advance while keeping the original expiration date. A $20 late fee applies if renewing after expiration; after 6 months past expiration the certification is forfeited unless an extension ($75 for an additional 90-day grace period) is granted, otherwise the course must be retaken.

Renewal applies to SCW certifications generally (including this Program Design online certification). CECs may be earned at MANIA conventions, other SCW live/online certifications, SCW Approved Providers, or fitness-related accredited college/university courses. CPR credits are not accepted toward the 20 CECs and a CPR card copy is no longer required.
