Certification valid 2 years; may renew up to 6 months before expiration and keep original date. Renewal after expiration incurs a $20 late fee; if not renewed within 6 months of expiration, certification is forfeited and the course must be retaken (or an extension applied for).

Must submit 20 hours of CECs earned after the certification's renewal date; excess hours beyond 20 do not carry over to the next period. CPR credits are not accepted toward the 20 CECs and a CPR card copy is no longer required. CECs can come from SCW live/online certifications, MANIA conventions, SCW Approved Providers, or fitness-related accredited college/university courses. Separate fees exist for material replacement ($35) and exam extension ($75).
