Certification valid 2 years; may renew up to 6 months before expiration while keeping original expiration date. A 6-month grace period after expiration is allowed (with late fee); after 6 months the certification is forfeited and the course must be retaken (or an extension applied for).

Must submit 20 hours of CECs earned after the certification's renewal date; excess hours beyond 20 do not carry over to the next period. CPR credits are not accepted toward the 20 CECs and a CPR card copy is no longer required. SCW CEC Video FAQ states 2 of the 20 CECs must come from SCW Fitness (MANIA conferences, SCW CEC online video courses, or SCW online certifications). Renewal is submitted via SCW's online renewal form; retain documentation of CECs earned.
