Certification valid 2 years; may renew up to 6 months before expiration and keep original expiration date. CECs must be earned after the certification's renewal date. $20 late fee if renewed after expiration; 6-month grace period after expiration, after which the certification is forfeited unless an extension is purchased ($75 for an additional 90 days) or the course is retaken.

Requires submission of 20 continuing education hours earned after the last renewal date; excess hours above 20 do not carry over to the next period. CPR card copy no longer required and CPR credits are not accepted toward the 20 CECs. CECs may come from SCW live/online certifications, MANIA conventions, SCW Approved Providers, or fitness-related college/university courses. Non-approved courses can be petitioned for approval ($25 base review fee).
