Active TPI Certification is valid for one year (from passing the Level 1 exam) and must be renewed annually to retain Active status.

Active status is maintained either by paying $199 to add one year, or by completing any Level 2 or Level 3 Certification class (each advanced class adds one year of Active status for free; two classes in one year add two years). No CEU total is specified for TPI's own renewal. Fitness 3 itself is a three-day in-person seminar ($1,495) requiring TPI Level 1 + Fitness 2 and passing the Fitness 3 exam; bundling discounts of $300 off Level 3 available. Those not credentialed/licensed for personal training receive a Fitness 3 'Minor' designation.
