Deadline rule
Certificate is valid for two calendar years from date of completion (in the original year enrolled), expiring December 31; the USATF Level 1 Bridge course must be completed prior to the certificate expiration date.

Renewal is by course completion, not CEU accrual: the only accepted renewal path is the USATF Level 1 Bridge course (Level 1 Sports Science online units — sports psychology, motor performance abilities, biomechanics, training design, physiology — plus a Level 1 Event Specific session via Zoom or in person). Evidence states no other course may be used to extend the certificate life. The Bridge course requires separate registration (access provided for 60 days from purchase) and a separate enrollment fee, and the coach must be a current USATF member to enroll. CEU-hour requirements (8 CEU hours effective Jan 1, 2026) apply to the USATF Level 1 certificate, not the Developmental certificate.
