Deadline rule
Certificate valid 2 years from date of issue; all 10 CECs must be earned between issue date and expiration; renewal should be postmarked/submitted prior to expiration (NETA advises mailing 2 months early). Automatic 180-day reinstatement grace period with late fees; after that, retake workshop/course and exam.

At least 6 of the 10 CECs must come from NETA workshops or home study courses purchased directly from NETA. Renewal requires application, photocopies of Certificates of Completion for all CECs, photocopy of adult CPR/AED card (must include live hands-on skills evaluation; online-only not accepted), and fee. CPR/AED courses award no CECs. Excess CECs do not carry to the next cycle. Renewal can be completed online or by mail.
